Strainer are your most economical choice for large debris removal. They are most commonly used in pressurized lines, gas or liquid, but can also be used in suction or vacuum conditions.
1. Y-Strainer
Y-Strainer has the advantage of being able to be installed in either a horizontal or vertical position. However, in both cases, the screening element or "leg" must be on the "downside" of the strainer body so that entrapped solids can be properly collected and held for disposal.
Specifications :
-
Size Range: ¼" – 24"
-
Pressure Class: 125 LB - 1500 LB
Features :
Standard body materials offered are Cast Iron, Ductile Iron, Cast Steel, Stainless Steel, Chrome-Moly and Bronze. The Y-Strainer are equipped with a blow off port. A ball valve can be fitted to flush debris that is easily removable from the screen and exhaust to atmosphere or a drain system. This feature allows for easy cleaning without interrupting the process. Various Perforations, Mesh or Perforation Mesh combinations or Wedge Wire screens are available to meet your process requirements.
2. Simplex Pipeline Basket Strainers
simplex pipeline basket strainers are used in piping applications where a greater screen area to pipe area ratio is required. By providing a greater screen area than a Y-strainer
Specifications :
-
Size Range: ¼" – 14"
-
Pressure Class: 150 LB - 300 LB
Features :
Simplex strainers are used to protect pipelines, valves, and spray nozzles from water flow problems. They reduce the necessity for frequent cleaning and provides a cost and time saving benefit with less downtime.
Simplex strainers are available in Cast Iron, Ductile Iron, Bronze, Nickel Aluminum Bronze, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, and a variety of specialty metals including Alloy 20, Hastelloy C276, Monel, Chrome-Moly, and Titanium to withstand thermal or mechanical shock and corrosion..
3. Duplex Continuous Flow Basket Strainers
Duplex Strainers are designed for applications where flow cannot be shut down to service the strainer screen. Change over is accomplished by use of butterfly valves
This arrangement provides a bubble-tight shut off between basket chambers, essential for use in negative head pump suction systems.
Specifications :
-
Size Range: ¾" - 20"
-
Pressure Class: 125 LB - 150 LB
Features :
Duplex basket strainers in sizes ¾” – 6” have knob type covers for tool free ease in basket removal. and also designed so the handle is over the in-service chamber allowing for easy cleaning and removal of the off-duty chamber basket.
Duplex basket strainers offer a compact housing and close face-to-face design for tight space requirements making them a perfect application for ship engine rooms. Duplex basket strainers are offered in Ductile Iron, Bronze, Carbon Steel, and 316 Stainless Steel with an assortment of o-ring options to cover most media and temperature conditions.
